Custom embroidery is done on a quote basis. Compared to other types of garment decoration, this is a little more expensive but it also has a little more professional look that businesses are looking for. Below are two things that will affect costs besides the apparel you select.

STITCHES:

Pricing is done on a, per thousand stitches per item. This gets less expensive the more pieces you order. You can do as many as 6 colors per design without a per color charge. So, to keep costs low here, keep your embroidered area small and order high quantities.

DIGITIZING:

This is a one-time fee and pricing is done on a per thousand stitches per design digitized. Pricing is not affected by how many items you are embroidering but the more items you do, the more you can spread that cost out. Monogramming (doing text) is much less expensive than digitizing a logo. So, to keep costs low here, use text only and/or keep the embroidery area small.
